PatchPets app has free outdoor Pilates classes with your dog

8views

Doggos and dog lovers will be taking over Centennial Park for a series of free Pilates classes.

ICYMI, working out with animals has become all the rage. First we had doga (dogs + yoga), and then came goatation (goats + meditation) – yeah, it’s a thing. So it was only soon enough it became a legit trend to combine your pup with Pilates.

Now PatchPets, a social media app dedicated to bring together dog owners at events and dog park play dates, is holding a series of (free) outdoor Pilates classes for you and your pup.

The classes are being held amongst the fresh air and greenery in Centennial Park, Sydney NSW, on Thursday November 7, 2019.

But you better get in quick if you want to sweat and bond over furry friends – there are only four sessions running with 30 spots available in each. All essential workout equipment will be provided, so all you have to do is bring your pup… and possibly a sweat towel.

For those of you who can’t make it to the event, PatchPets Founder and Director Josh Fritz wants you to start working out with your canine friend from today, whether that be while getting zen doing downward dog or burpee-ing it out in a HIIT session.

“Working out with a pet has been shown to boost one’s mental state and lessen feelings of isolation and loneliness,” he tells body+soul.

“You also can’t underestimate the benefits for your dog. Working out with your dog will create a closer bond, help their development and socialisation skills, and increase their ability to adapt to new environments.

“Positive animal sentience is also a factor, with studies increasingly showing that dogs tend to mimic the emotions and moods of their owners.”

Sounds paw-fect to us.
